January Cover for Eye On Independence Magazine
This was literally a last minute cover design for Eye On Independence magazine. They were not 100% happy with how the cover was and asked if I had anything that might work.
The idea was to show the old and the new in downtown Batesville, AR. The is a lot going on down on Main Street Batesville! What you see is what I could get done in time to meet the short deadline. I have several other ideas but no the time to develop them. I’m guessing they liked it because it is on the January cover.
Paying for the professional hand model was really expensive; well it will cost me anyway.
Thanks to the Old Independence Regional Museum for providing the old image. The image I selected to use was titled Main Street 1946 – Powell Guard Collection, Old Independence Regional Museum.
I hope to pick up a copy tomorrow and check out Julie’s article plus a few other faves. You should too!

Love how you captured the timelessness of the Old and New with the mountains and the Melba signs. I think it says a lot about the need for “Main Streets” everywhere. No matter what kind of suburban sprawl happens, every community has a Main Street where things are constantly happening and evolving. Great idea!
