I took this at the Scottish Festival. I think some of the Frat boys were tring to raise money. Anyway I thought I would try to get one more post in this month and I think this is a cool shot.
Lyon college Scottish Festival 2009

The whole Select Shots Clan was present at the festival this year. Everyone was worried about the rain but it held off until well after the march of the Clans. Seems attendance was a little down probably from the threat of thunderstorms for the day.
One of the things Sheri and I like about the event is that it is dog friendly. We usually take Max but it is kind of hard to hold a camera and him at the same time. There was a wolfhound there and he must have been about 15 hands tall. The is the friendliest dog ever. Look at the photo were he actually lays down so a baby can pet (aka known as pull big dogs hair out) him.
Of course there was plenty of things Scottish to see. I was eying over the Carhart Work Kilts.
There was a grand wedding proposal of the likes I have never seen before. there sure was a lot sword and knife waving going on. she said yes at the end so I guess that is all that matters.

Studio Hawks

Cooper's Hawk at the Select Shtos Studio
Wow! I got a real treat this morning at the studio. A couple of hawks were courting right outside the office window. I quickly put my vr200 f2 lens with a doubler on my Nikon D3 and crept out the back door and got these 2 shots. Apparently I need to work on my creeping abilities. Although Khara says I’m creepy enough.
I went online to identify him and the closest I could come up with is either Sharp Skinned hawk or Cooper’s Hawk. If You think you know please comment. We see animals a lot at the studio. We have seen deer, turkeys and all kinds of birds. We are working on getting some bird feeders up. If we do we for sure be getting lots of bird pictures. Anyway just wanted to share our studio Hawk with you this morning.
