Tanker Truck Cuts off Batesville, AR from the World
Jan 8th
Well Maybe not really cut off from the whole world, just mine. An 18 wheeler tanker truck, loaded with propane overturned on Ramsey Mountain leaving Batesville, AR yesterday afternoon. Then it stared leaking and they evacuated people in the area. Many people had to detour to the White River bridge at Oil Trough to cross the river to their destinations. You can read more about it this afternoon Here. You can read more and see a picture of the accident right now here. Below is a picture of the Tanker trailer, after being towed, that was damaged.

The Train at Riverside Park
Jul 3rd
I remember playing on this train when I was growin up in Batesville, AR. It was in a different location not too far for where it is now. Mom used to take me to DQ (Dariy Queen) for a Dilly bar and then to the park. This is something she also did with all her grandchildren. I even worked with a man whose Dad actually operated this engine at Limedale. I remember back when I got to play on it you could still lock someone inside the boiler.
The old train is looking good now! I’m sure many more Mom’s and Grandmom’s will let there kids play engineers, Train robbers and such.
Tomorrow is the 4th of July! Everyone have a safe and fun time!
